Many years ago, in one of our videos, I talked about the early days of Baumdienst Siebengebirge. Among other things, I told the story of a spectacular job on a giant sequoia at the Bonn Federal Chancellery. The trunk practically exploded while I was still working further down the tree. You never forget an experience like that. Naturally, I told my sons about it too, since situations like that are something a professional has to recognize early, before they become life-threatening. You’re welcome to watch the video again here:
And here’s Part 2 on training (featuring my sons Kevin and Alexander, still very young at the time):
A lot has changed in the years since. Our family business has kept growing. My sons Kevin, Alexander, Luke, and William carry on our tradition in tree care, which has freed me up to focus on our other projects.
None of this would have been possible without the support of my wife Monika and our daughters Alyson and Emily. Little Britain got its start back at the Forsthaus Reifstein. That’s where Robin Hood’s Hut first stood, and where the Centurion tank was originally installed as a memorial to peace and freedom.
From those small beginnings, after the move, the Christmas Market grew into a major attraction that draws visitors from all over the world.
Our hotel, the Little Britain Inn, has become an equally popular destination, offering an authentic English breakfast for a relaxing weekend getaway or a longer stay. The bar draws guests in with English Guinness on tap and plenty of other specialties. Everything from the bacon to the scones, the tea, the marmalade, and the beer is imported straight from England.
Monika handles the culinary side, while my daughters manage the hotel bookings and make sure our guests want for nothing. Top reviews on travel sites reflect that success. Companies book our venues for events. Readings and other cultural events take place here too, and that offering has been very well received.
A very good friend, who has followed my professional journey in Germany closely since the very beginning, recently dedicated a video and a song to me. It meant a great deal to me:
A podcast on Spotify (maybe good company for your drive to your summer vacation) recently covered our story. You can hear about three decades of history in under 20 minutes:

And here’s an episode about my personal story of the Bridge at Remagen and the significance of our Centurion tank as a peace memorial:

None of this story, none of this success, would have been possible without our customers and friends. Thank you all, sincerely.
